During my recent stay to ring in the New Year at Arrowwood Resort Hotel And Conference Center in Alexandria, I experienced a mixture of tranquility and excitement. Nestled by the shores of the stunning Lake Darling, the spacious rooms offered fabulous views, but they did miss the mark on comfort, with age showing in both the decor and the mattress quality. A highlight was the outdoor opportunities that the resort provides; we thoroughly enjoyed a one-mile stroll across their beautifully maintained grounds, which was invigorating after indulging in the resort's wonderful dining options. Despite a reservation hiccup, which was graciously handled with complimentary water park passes, the professional hospitality team remained attentive and accommodating. While the indoor water park was a delight for both adults and children, the true gem was the culinary experience—each meal was crafted with care, showcasing local flavors and ingredients, a nod to my appreciation for history and culture. It's easy to picture how this resort caters to families and groups alike, with ample space for fun and relaxation, making it a perfect setting for bonding over shared passions. While the accommodations could use some modern updates, the gorgeous setting and engaging activities at Arrowwood make it an enchanting spot to reconnect with nature and loved ones.
